A camp out on your very own deck, who would have thought of that? Well, it certainly was not my wife and I when we envisioned the plan for our new deck. We had just moved into this new house in Virginia with our daughter and we loved everything about it except it had no deck. So, our first project was to build one.
We went through the normal process of research, planning and budgeting. After recently buying a new home, the budget was our main concern. But we did not want something that looked cheap and was not safe for our daughter. After looking at all the specs and prices of different products we decided on using Trex composite decking. It is stylish, colorful, design friendly and won’t destroy our budget. Not to mention the time and money we will save on maintenance over the years.
Luckily, we had a Trex Pro builder located near us in Centreville, Virginia. We were able to work with them on a certain time frame a budget for our project. So, obviously the next step was for the construction to commence. We were very pleased when the project was finished early and we still had a good amount of money on our budget for the project. So, after consulting with our Trex Pro, we decided to add an outdoor fireplace to the deck, and I’m glad we did.
Little did we know that our daughter and her friends were big fans of camping and sleepovers. We thought, “Great! Here is a chance for her to enjoy the deck as much as we do!” That following weekend after the deck was complete she invited her friends over for the first ever outdoor camping and sleepover on our deck. I must say it was a smashing success. The girls had a great time and are always asking when they can do it again. All thanks to Trex decking.
