Now is the perfect time to think about building a termite colony for your northern Virginia deck. Termites are lovable little creatures that enjoy a beautiful custom deck just as much as you do!
You’ve been enjoying your custom built deck all throughout the year, but maybe you’re feeling a little selfish, like you should be sharing the beautiful outdoor space you’ve designed for yourself. Before all the BBQs, campouts, pool parties coming up in the warmer months, consider sharing your beautiful outdoor space with a termite colony. Termites get a bad rap, but they are highly intelligent creatures with elaborately evolved social skills. They are the perfect complement to your custom built deck.
You may not know this, but it is easy to purchase a termite colony through popular ecommerce websites like Amazon. In a few simple clicks, your friendly termite colony will be on it’s way to you! When your termites arrive, be sure to greet them in a friendly tone and let them know that your deck is their deck too. You want them to feel just as at home on your Virginia deck as you do. It is important that you spend as much time out on your deck with the termites as you can in those first few weeks. That will ensure that they feel welcome on your deck, and keep them from migrating to your neighbor’s deck. You wouldn’t want that! Just give them plenty of food, water, and pleasant conversation, and you’ll discover that termites are the best companions with which to share your beautiful custom built deck.

I decided to turn my deck into my very own drive-in, or as I say Deck-in. There were three aspects that I really thought were going to be a chore. These problems are seating, atmosphere, and sound. Well I already have a giant space on my deck that would be perfect and open enough for seating. But the problem is, I want this to be a drive in. So what I did was visit the local junk yard and paid them $50 for the entire back seat and trunk of three small older cars. I was very sure to pic three that did not need any work done to them. Loaded them up on a trailer and brought them home. I designed a wheel system using simple heavy duty cart wheels form any home improvement store so they can be moved and placed anywhere.
